Organization Member Advisory Council Officer Elections 2024
In 2024, two individuals were nominated and elected for the Organization Member Advisory Council (OMAC) officer positions:
- Harald Summa, Chairperson
- Melchior Aelmans, Vice Chairperson
- David Belson, Interim Vice Chairperson
In December 2024, Melchior Aelmans resigned, and David Belson, Cloudflare, volunteered to serve as an Interim Vice Chairperson until the next election cycle in 2026.
The OMAC officers will lead OMAC for a 24-month term.

Harald A. Summa
DE-CIX
Harald A. Summa was Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of DE-CIX, the world’s leading Internet Exchange operator, from 1996 to 2022 and is member of the Supervisory Board of the DE-CIX Group AG. At its close to 40 locations in Europe, Africa, North America, the Middle East, India, and Asia, DE-CIX interconnects thousands of network operators (carriers), Internet service providers (ISPs), content providers and enterprise networks from more than 100 countries, and offers peering, cloud, and interconnection services. Harald A. Summa is also the initiator and CEO of the eco Association – the largest Internet industry association in Europe.
David Belson
Cloudflare
David Belson is Head of Data Insight at Cloudflare where he manages Cloudflare Radar, a hub that showcases global Internet traffic, attack, and technology trends and insights based on data generated by the use of Cloudflare’s services. He has spent thirty years in the Internet infrastructure space, in roles at BBN Planet/GTE Internetworking, Akamai, Oracle Dyn, the Internet Society, and Fastly, focusing on Internet measurement and monitoring through projects including Akamai’s State of the Internet Report, Oracle Dyn’s Internet Intelligence Map, and the Internet Society’s Pulse platform.
